On August 19th, President Li Xiaolin met with Neil Bush and representatives of The Texas A&M University System. Neil Bush is the third son of former President George Herbert Walker Bush and the younger brother of George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States. At present, the two countries have established 22 pairs of friendship cities; this number were ranked second place in Latin American countries, and still had potential of increase. She also hoped that the two countries would continue promoting the establishment of friendship cities or states/provinces and striven to develop the exchanges and cooperation of local governments to a new highlight of China-Mexico relation.? Ambassador Ventura thanked the CPAFFC for its contribution and efforts to the friendship between Mexico and China. ROK President Park Geun-hye met with CPAFFC delegation headed by President Li Xiaolin and Mr. Wang Jianzhou, President of China-Korea Friendship Association, on 23 July 2013 at?Cheong Wa Dae (Office of the ROK President). Chinese Ambassador Zhang Xinsen attended the meeting. President Park Geun-hye expressed welcome to Madame Li with delegation and recalled with joy her recent visit to China in June 2013. President Park emphasized that one of the most important contents in the China-Korea Joint Deceleration was to deepen people-to-people and cultural ties.? She believed that the CPAFFC, as the biggest and most popular people-to-people friendship association in China, could play a crucial role to this end. Madame Li Xiaolin briefed President Park on the work of the CPAFFC and the China-Korea Association. She totally agreed to President Park’s words that “the Korean dream and the Chinese dream are connected”, which was in President Park’s speech at Tsinghua University in Beijing.? On July 19th, President Li Xiaolin met with Peter Woods, Ambassador of UCLG ASPAC and Richard Foster, Editor-in-Chief of City Today. The guestes introduced City Infrastructure Forum co-hosted by UCLG, City Today and CPAFFC in Chongqing from September 9th to 10th and invited President Li to attend the opening ceremony of the Forum. Peter Woods further elaborated on the work of UCLG in 2014. President Li accepted the invitation to the Forum and showed her support for the work of UCLG. On July 16th, 2013，Mme. Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with the U.S. Kansas State Governor Sam Brownback. They exchanged views on China’s development, China-US relations, sub-national cooperation between the two countries. Governor Brownback is visiting China at the invitation of the CPAFFC in an effort to strengthen collaboration with China in fields of agriculture, food safety, bioscience and education.

On June 5th 2013, President Li Xiaolin met with H.E. Kwon Young-se, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China in CPAFFC. President Li congratulated him on his new appointment. She said that during the successful visit to China by President Park Geun-hye last week, the leaders of China and ROK held fruitful discussions and reached important consensus on expanding people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The CPAFFC would further strengthen the friendly cooperation with friendship organizations in ROK and make positive contributions to implement the consensus reached by the two leaders and to consolidate and develop friendship between our two countries. H.E. Kwon Young-se thanked President Li for meeting with him and said that one of the consensus reached by President Park Geun-hye and President Xi Jinping during her state visit to China was to expand people-to-people and culture exchanges. The CPAFFC, as China''''s oldest non-governmental friendship organization, was an important channel and platform to promote such exchanges. He highly praised CPAFFC’s practical endeavors and positive role in promoting Korea-China friendship. Mr.Feng Zuoku, Vice President of CPAFFC attended the meeting.

In the afternoon of July 3rd, the CPAFFC president Mme. Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Oleg Sienko, the president of the Russian UralVagonZavod scientific industrial corporation (UVZ) and his group. Li Jianping, the vice president of the CPAFFC were present at the meeting. President Li Xiaolin extended her welcome to President Sienko. She made a brief introduction on basic facts of the CPAFFC and the achievements the CPAFFC had made in recent years in furthering cooperation of local governments and promoting the works of friendship cities. She expressed that the CPAFFC would like to work with the circle of Russian industries to promote the exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and Russian local governments.?President Li Xiaolin pointed out, the success of the Dialog for the Chinese and Russian Governors needed not only the meticulous preparation of the both sides, and the detailed timeline, but also the support and assistance from the governments, foreign ministries and embassies of the two countries.
