President Li Xiaolin Visits Morocco
At the invitation of UCLG and the Association of Morocco-China Friendship and Exchanges, Madame Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC paid a visit to Morocco from September 28 to October 3, 2013 and attended the 4th Congress of UCLG.
During the visit, Madame Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Mohamed Sajid, Mayor of Casablanca and Mr. Fathallah Oualalou, Mayor of Rabat. Madame Li Xiaolin also held meeting with Mr.Lahbib Choubani, Minister of Relations with the Parliament and Civil Society and Mr. Mohand Laenser, Minister of Interior.
The delegation held working meeting with the Association of Morocco-China Friendship and Exchanges. The two sides held discussion on the further promotion of Morocco-China friendship and the cooperation of local government and youth exchanges. Lahcen Daoudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Bassima Hakkaoui, Minister of Solidarity, Women, Family and Social Development attended the welcome banquet lunch for the delegation.
The delegation also visited the University Hassan II in Casablanca.
President Li Xiaolin Visits French Polynesia
At the invitation of Gaston FLOSSE, President of the autonomous government of French Polynesia, Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC paid a visit to French Polynesia from October 7th to 11th. The visit aimed at strengthening friendly relations with the new government of French Polynesia, the assembly and all circles of French Polynesia. In addition, the visit was also for extending the cooperation contract with French Polynesia and thus promoting the practical cooperation between China and French Polynesia. The visit achieved a great success.

During her stay in French Polynesia, President Li met with M. Lionel BEFFRE, Haut-commissaire de la Polynésie francaise, FLOSSE, President of autonomous government of French Polynesia, M. Edouard FRITCH, President of the Assembly and M. Jean Christophe BOUISSOU, Vice-President of the Assembly. They exchanged views on friendly relations between China and French Polynesia as well as the issues co-concerning both parties.?

When meeting with M. Lionel BEFFRE, Haut-commissaire de la Polynésie francaise, President Li introduced the nature and aim of CPAFFC and the main purpose of the visit. She attached great importance to Sino-France relation and Sino-French Polynesia relation. In addition, she spoke highly of their efforts in supporting the work of Chinese Consulate to French Polynesia. Especially, President Li thanked the Haut commissariat and the the Papeete Maritime Rescue Center for their assistance in rescuing the Chinese fishing vessel. M. Lionel BEFFRE, Haut-commissaire de la Polynésie fran?aise, received President Li warmly, hoping that the exchanges and cooperation between France and China could further on steadily.

On behalf of M. Edouard FRITCH, President of the Assembly, M. Jean Christophe BOUISSOU, the Vice President of the Assembly, received President Li warmly accompanied by members of the assembly from different Parties. He pointed out that strengthening the Sino-French Polynesia was the common wish of all members of the assembly. Afterwards, the small art troupe song and danced to show their hospitality. Moreover, the craftsman from five major archipelagos presented traditional handicrafts to President Li,which also demonstrated the exquisite workmanship of the local products.
Right after the welcoming ceremony of the Assembly, President Li went to the President’s Office to attend the official welcoming ceremony and addressed the ceremony. President Li pointed out that, she hoped that we could lift the Sino-French Polynesian relation to a new level through the visit. The delegation, all ministers of the French Polynesian government, members of the assembly and representatives from the local Chinese association attended the welcoming ceremony.

On the afternoon of the October 10th, the CPAFFC delegation and the entrepreneurs signed four cooperation contracts with the President FLOSSE at the President''''''''s office. Four representatives who signed the contracts delivered speeches on the ceremony. President Li and President FLOSSE joined the press conference to respond to journalists on the contracts signed and cooperation.

At last, in the name of CPAFFC and in her own name, President Li invitedPresident FLOSSE to visit China at appropriate time. She wished that the Sino-French Polynesian friendship can last forever and the cooperation between the two parties can achieve fruitful results.

President Li Xiaolin Attends UCLG 4th World Congress
Madam Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) led the CPAFFC delegation to attend the 4th UCLG World Congress held in Rabat, Morocco on October 2nd, 2013 and delivered a speech in the Introductory Plenary section.
More than 3000 representatives of UCLG members, local governments, international organizations and corporations from over 100 countries and regions attended the Congress.
President Li Xiaolin Visits San Marino
At the invitation of San Marino-China Friendship Association, a CPAFFC delegation led by President Li Xiaolin visited San Marino from September 26 to 28.
During the visit, President Li met with Captain Regent of San Marino, the San Marino Ambassador to China and the Minister of tourism. Both sides spoke highly of the significant exchanges and cooperation in different fields between the two countries since China and San Marino established diplomatic relations 42 years ago. They hoped that the friendship between the two countries and the peoples would be strengthened and developed continually. Discussing with Mr. Gianfranco Terenzi, the president of San Marino-China Friendship Association and the former Captain Regent of San Marino, President Li expressed that the CPAFFC would like to work hard with San Marino-China Friendship Association to promote the friendly cooperation relations in various fields between the two countries closer and more pragmatic. She also attended the celebrating activities of the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of San Marino-China Friendship Association.

President Li Xiaolin met and held a banquet for the delegation headed by Mr. Gautam Bambawale, Joint Secretary (East Asia) of Ministry of External Affairs, India at CPAFFC on September 24th.?
Mme Li gave the delegation a warm welcome, and recalled the days of her visit to India this August. She hoped to make joint efforts with the Indian side to have the agreements of the first batch of friendship cities between China and India officially signed during Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh''s visit to China in October this year to achieve zero breakthrough of friendship city between China and India.??
Mr. Bambawale expressed sincere thanks to Mme Li for her reception and agreed with her suggestions. He said that it is the first time for India to? attempt friendship city work. He wished to promote exchange and cooperation between Indian cities and Chinese cities as well as cities all over the world through friendship city development with Chinese cities.?
The Ministry of External Affairs of India is now keeping an active contact with relevant Indian cities. The agreements of the first batch of friendship cities between China and India will hopefully be officially signed during Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh''s visit to China this year. Mr. Bambawale also present the friendship city agreement drafted by the Indian side to our side.
President Li Xiaolin Meets with Chairman & CEO of U.S. Principal Financial Group
On September 18th, President Li Xiaolin met with the delegation headed by Mr. Larry D. Zimpleman, Chairman & CEO of U.S. Principal Financial Group. President Li introduced the friendly exchanges with foreign countries and charity projects carried out by CPAFFC in recent years, especially the friendly exchange and cooperation with the State of Iowa, where the PFG headquarter is located. President Li said the reform and opening up in China would present a huge potential market to foreign enterprises including PFG, and hoped to witness further prosperity of PFG in China. Mr. Zimpleman thanked President Li for meeting the delegation, and would like to facilitate the cooperation between Iowa and China. He introduced current PFG business in China, and hoped to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese government and enterprises in areas such as old-age pension scheme reform and financial investment services. Mr. Zimpleman also expressed strong interest in participating in various charity projects of CPAFFC.
President Li Xiaolin Meets and Entertains HRH Pilolevu
Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met and held a banquet for Her Royal Highness Princess Pilolevu Tuita of the Kingdom of Tonga, Mr. And Mrs. Latu, Tongan Ambassador to China and her delegation at CPAFFC on September 16, 2013.
In the meeting, Mme Li emphasized that HRH Princess Pilolevu has been an old friend of Chinese people, worthy of the name “Friendship Ambassador”. The many visits between the two countries showed the great importance attached by both sides to China-Tonga relations. Mme Li pointed out that, the fifteen years since the normalization of China-Tonga relations had witnessed the smooth development of bilateral relations and the deepening cooperation in the fields of politics, trade, and culture, etc.. In this process, a great many positive efforts had been paid by the non-governmental organizations.
HRH Princess Pilolevu expressed her thanks to Mme Li for her reception. She said, the aim of the delegation was to enhance the bilateral relations, promote humanistic and economic communication, further consolidate and develop Tonga-China relations and continue to push forward the steady development of friendship between Tongan and Chinese people.
President Li Xiaolin Meets With U.S. Delegation Headed by Governor of Michigan
On September 13th, President Li Xiaolin met with the U.S. Michigan delegation headed by Mr. Rick Snyder, Governor of Michigan. President Li said there is huge room for cooperation between China and Michigan, and CPAFFC would like to facilitate the friendly exchange and practical cooperation between the two sides. President Li hoped to work with Council of Great Lakes Governors where Governor Snyder serves as co-chair to promote dialogue between U.S. governors of the Great Lake region and Chinese governors from the central and western area, in the efforts to seek opportunities for win-win cooperation. Governor Snyder thanked President Li for hosting the meeting, and agreed to help promote exchanges between U.S. and Chinese governors. Governor Snyder wished to deepen cooperation with China in various fields such as economy and trade, tourism and agriculture.

On September 11th, President Li Xiaolin met with the U.S. delegation composed of presidents of historically black colleges and universities. President Li introduced the major functions and vision of CPAFFC, and wished to work with colleges and universities where the delegation members come from to carry out youth exchange between China and the U.S., so as to enhance mutual understanding between the young people and lay a solid foundation for China-U.S. friendship and cooperation. Mr. Sidney Ribeau, President of Howard University and leader of the delegation, expressed sincere appreciation on the work done by CPAFFC, and hoped to maintain close contact with the association, as well as to pool resources from both sides to step up cooperation in youth exchange, educational exchange and cultural exchange between the U.S. and China.

Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with President Kim Young Aeh of Korea-China Friendship Association of Culture & Economy on September 11, 2013.
President Li expressed sincere appreciation on the work done by Kim Young Aeh who was being engaged in developing friendly exchanges between China and Korea. She also hoped that Kim Young Aeh would continue promoting the friendly communication and common development for the people of the two countries.
