On April 12th, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries held a banquet for Mme. Marie-France Marchand Baylet, the chairwoman of Foundation Flag-France. President Li Xiaolin extended her warm welcome to Mme. Marchand Baylet for her visit to the CPAFFC. President Li said, the CPAFFC as a national organization engaged in nongovernmental diplomatic works with the purpose of enhancing people’s friendship, furthering international cooperation, safeguarding world peace and promoting common development, worked for developing the friendly cooperation relation with the countries in the world including France. She indicated, China and France both had brilliant culture in history which would be a good channel for furthering the understanding between the two countries. The next years would be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and France, which would be an opportunity for both countries to hold a series of activities of cultural exchange such as art exhibitions. Mme. Marchand Baylet appreciated President Li Xiaolin for the meeting and her warm reception. She said, She and Foundation Flag-France worked all along for promoting the friendly exchange between China and France by holding exhibitions and other types of art exchanging activities. She would like to further favoring the serial commemorative events of 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and France such as the commemorative coin, the establishment of the friendship gardens between Versailles in France and Yuanmingyuan in China, through her good relation with the French high-level officials. During the banquet, President Li Xiaolin also exchanged ideas with Mme. Marchand Baylet on issues of environmental protection and food security. Dong Kaijian, the deputy director general of the Department of the European and Asian Affairs of the CPAFFC, Zhou Ruiming, the secretary-general of Commission for Economic Cooperation of China International Friendship Cities Association were present at the banquet.

On April 8th, 2013, Mme Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) held a luncheon for U.S. South Dakota State Governor Dennis Daugaard. Mme Li Xiaolin gave her warm welcome to the Governor and briefed the major works of CPAFFC. She said, the CPAFFC would continue to enhance people’s friendship and promote mutual understanding, and strive for implementing the CPAFFC’s aims. Subsequently, she highlighted the Second China-U.S. Governors Forum, which would be held soon in Beijing and Tianjin, and the current state of China-U.S. Sister Provinces/Cities relations. She expressed the wish to push forward the establishment of Sister Provinces/Cities relations between South Dakota and Chinese provinces. Governor Daugaard expressed his gratitude to the warm reception of Mme Li Xiaolin. He regretted that he could not attend the Second China-U.S. Governors Forum, but hoped to attend the next forum. He agreed to consider establishing Sister Provinces/Cities relations with China and learnt about the related procedures and the cooperation conducted by other U.S. states and Chinese provinces. He had gained better understanding about this relationship and would like to take this meaningful suggestion into consideration.

On April 8th, 2013, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Hartmut Koschyk，the State Secretary of Federal Ministry of Finance of Germany. President Li Xiaolin briefed Mr.Hartmut Koschyk the social and economic situation in China, as well as the major works of the CPAFFC. She said, the CPAFFC would continue to enhance the people’s friendship and further the mutual understanding, and strive for implementing the CPAFFC’s aim. The international society attached great importance to the role of Asian and Pacific Area, especially the role China was playing. China provided many opportunities of cooperation with foreign countries in its future development layout in fields of urbanization, environmental protection, food security, new energy and etc.. To solve the problems such as missing of social trustworthiness that the Chinese society was confronting with required improving public education and consummating the law, as well as strengthening international cooperation in correlative fields. China and Germany currently maintained good relation, in this case, China wished to receive the support from the German friends in promoting the exchanges and cooperation of local governments. President Li Xiaolin also made a brief introduction on Cooperation Forum of China-Poland Local Governments and 2nd Conference of China-Hungary Friendly Cities which would be held in this late April.? Mr. Hartmut Koschy highly evaluated the works of the CPAFFC had done and its important role in international cooperation. He expressed that, the new government of China had a clear comprehension on currently issues. There would be great opportunities for deepening the cooperation between China and Germany as well as Europe in important development fields such as environmental protection, food security and sustainable development. Mr. Hartmut Koschy also suggested the both sides to discuss on differences and similarities in the Chinese and Germany values in the future.

At the invitation of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, President Li Xiaolin and delegation paid a visit to the Kingdom of Thailand from 28?to 30, March 2013, attending the Launching Ceremony of Her City and Hubei Food Festival. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was present at the above activities. She explained why and how she translated the novel Her City by Chi Li, a writer from China’s Hubei Province. She cut the ribbon at the Opening Ceremony of Hubei Food Festival and then tasted Hubei dishes together with guests from China and Thailand. During the stay in Thailand, President Li Xiaolin and delegation met with Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Privy Council Chairman Prem Tinsulanonda. They also attended the welcome banquets hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Phongthep Thepkanjana, Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association and Thai-Chinese Friendship Association. Vice Governor Wang Junzheng of China’s Hubei Province visited Thailand together with President Li Xiaolin in the above programs. Chinese Ambassador Guan Mu in Bangkok accompanied President Li Xiaolin for major activities.?

At the invitation of the SA-China People’s Friendship Association, President Li Xiaolin paid a visit to South Africa from 25 to 27, March 2013. During the visit, she had in-depth exchange of views with the SA-China People’s Friendship Association on the comprehensive cooperation between the two associations, and signed the MOU on cooperation between the two sides under the witness of Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Zuma of South Africa. ?

At the invitation of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States,Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), a CPAFFC delegation led by President Li Xiaolin visited Russia from March 20 to 22. The delegation attended the signing ceremony between China and Russia on humanitarian cooperation project held by the Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Golodec, in the government building of Russia. Under the witness of both countries’Vice Premiers, President Li Xiaolin and Director Konstantion Kosachev officially signed the Agreement of Cooperation between The CPAFFC and The Rossotrudnichestvo. This agreement refers to facilitating the cooperation between the local governments, strengthening the exchanges between the youths and expanding the people-to-people pragmatic cooperation and humanity communication to consolidate the basis of public opinion for constant friendship of generations. Before the signing ceremony, President Li Xiaolin specially met with Director Konstantion Kosachev. They exchanged the opinions and reached a consensus on the issues of how to carry out the mechanism of regularly meeting of local leaders announced by the leaders of the two countries and further strengthen the friendly contact of the youths which is attached great importance of the leaders of the two countries. ?

On March 13, Mme. Li Xiaolin, the President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with and held a banquet for Mr. Chang Won-kie, the Chief Executive Officer of Greater China, Samsung Group and his party. President Li Xiaolin welcomed Mr. Chang Won-kie’s visit to the CPAFFC, and briefed him the work of the CPAFFC and China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development (CFFPD). President Li Xiaolin said, the CPAFFC was engaged in developing the friendly cooperative relation with the countries of the world including Republic of Korea, with the purpose of enhancing the people’s friendship, furthering international cooperation, safeguarding world peace and promoting common development. She pointed out, Samsung Group experienced rapid growth development in recent years and had become one of the most influential brand in the world. She hoped the both sides strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, urbanization, education in depressed area and philanthropy. She also looked forward Samsung Group playing an active role in promoting the development of the Chinese social undertakings. Mr. Chang Won-kie thanked President Li Xiaolin for finding time for the meeting in her tight schedule. At the invitation of National Governors Association(NGA), President Li Xiaolin visited the US and attended the NGA Winter Meeting in Washington DC from Feb. 22 to 28, 2013. Mme. Li met with Ms. Reta Lewis, US State Department Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs，and U.S governors, inviting them to attend the Second China-US Governors Forum to be held in China mid Apr, 2013. Mme. Li also met with Former US ambassador to China John Huntsman , and had discussion with representatives from Nixon Foundation and National Football League Players Association during her stay in Washington DC. After that, Mme. Li traveled to Houston to pay a visit to former U.S. President George H. W. Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush. Mme. Li also exchange ideas with representatives of Texas A&M University on the next "George Bush China-US Relations Conference".

President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Ahn Hong joon, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Unification Committee of ROK National Assembly and his delegation at the CPAFFC on January 25, 2013.? President Li briefed Mr. Ahn Hong joon on the work of the CPAFFC and its exchanges with ROK. She extended her congratulations to Park Geun-hye on her victory at the ROK presidential election and expressed confidence for further development of China-ROK relations under Park Geun-hye’s leadership. Mr. Ahn Hong joon highly appreciated the major role of the CPAFFC in pushing forward bilateral relations. He said that ROK always attached importance to developing relations with China and hoped for China’s constructive contributions to the settlement of DPRK’s nuclear issue. Mr. Feng Zuoku, Vice President of the CPAFFC, attended the meeting.

On the morning of Jan.24th, the CPAFFC president Li Xiaolin met with Natsuo Yamaguchi, the president of the New Komeito Party of Japan. Jing Dunquan, the vice president of the CPAFFC and Hidehisa Horinouchi, the Japanese Minister Plenipotentiary to China were present. President Li Xiaolin extended her welcome to Natsuo Yamaguchi for the visit to China of the delegation of the New Komeito Party, in such a difficult period of China-Japan relation. She briefed the Japanese guests the purpose of the CPAFFC and its friendly contacts with the countries of the world including Japan. She said China and Japan were the neighbors separated by a narrow strip of water; the history of friendly interaction and cultural exchanges between the two peoples had lasted for a long time and left many moving stories. The relationship between two countries was based on the affection between two countries’civilians. The relation between countries would not develop without the support of the people. The both sides should consistently enhance the people’s understanding and friendship by cultural exchanges and other methods, to lift up the voice of calling for China-Japan friendship. President Li Xiaolin indicated that, China-Japan relation was currently facing a difficult situation. She hoped Japan make practical efforts based on facing history and reality squarely and work together with China, thus push China-Japan relation back to the healthy and steady track of development. She was looking forward to the New Komeito Party continuously playing its active role of developing the relation between the two countries. Natsuo Yamaguchi said, cultural exchanges as the one type of the important contacts between the two countries, could be preserved in hearts. The next year would be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the New Komeito Party; the New Komeito Party would persist and inherit the spirit of China-Japan friendship which had lasted since the party was established. The New Komeito Party would make every effort and play a positive role to improve the relation between China and Japan. ?
