On January 24, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr.GianFrancoTerenzi，President of San Marino-China Friendship Association, Former Captain Regent of San Marino. Mr. Terenzi passionately reviewed his first visit to China as the Captain Regent in 1988. It was this visit that inspired him to found San Marino China Friendship Association to express his profound feelings to China, and since then he devoted himself fully to the friendly exchange between China and San Marino. The year 2013 marked 25 anniversary of the establishment of San Marino China Friendship Association. Mr. Terenzi would like to take this opportunity to further strengthen the cooperation in every field. Meanwhile, he invited Madame Li to lead a delegation to visit San Marino and attend the celebration for the 25th anniversary. Madame Li highly remarked on and appreciated the efforts and contribution Mr. Terenzi had made to the friendship between our two countries. CPAFFC will continue to maintain the exchange and cooperation with San Marino China Friendship Association, and strive for a better understanding between our two peoples. On January15th, 2013, Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Carmenza Jaramillo，the newly appointed Colombian Ambassador to China. President Li Xiaolin gave Ambassador Jaramillo the introductions about the history, major work and the cooperation with friendly-to-China organizations of? the CPAFFC, as well as the projects CPAFFC carried out in recent years such as The China-Latin American and Caribbean People to People Friendship Forum and Painting in Latin American and Caribbean. She also hoped to further promote the friendly exchanges with the people of Latin American countries including Colombia, under Ambassador Jaramillo’s support. Ambassador Jaramillo thanked President Li Xiaolin for finding time for the meeting in her tight schedule. She Said, the Colombian Embassy to China attached great importance to the role of the CPAFFC played in promoting the development of the relations of the two countries. She also appreciated the support that the CPAFFC had provided to the events including the Colombian Movie Festival, the Colombian Music Festival and Latin American and Caribbean Music Festival. She would like to strengthen the cooperation and jointly organize various activities of exchanges with the CPAFFC, to make more contribution for enhancing the two peoples’friendship.

President Li Xiaolin held a banquet for Konstantin Kosachev, the director of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo)? and his party on January 10, 2013. President Li xiaolin introduced the work of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) to the Russian guests at the banquet. She hoped to develop the cooperation with Rossotrudnichestvo? for further increasing the mutual understanding and traditional friendship between peoples of China and Russia , and to strengthen the exchanges in the fields of youths, local governments and others. Director Konstantin Kosachev was grateful to President Li for her hospitality. He said President Li was the first foreign guest he had received since he worked as the director of Rossotrudnichestvo. The Rossotrudnichestvo was attaching great importance to the friendly cooperative relationship with the CPAFFC. The principal work after he assumed his new post was to comprehensively motivate the initiative of all federal subjects of Russia to engage in people-to-people diplomacy. The extensive response was received, especially from the Far East and regions near to China. The Rossotrudnichestvo would like to expand the cooperative fields and jointly engage in multilateral activities with the CPAFFC. The two sides reached consensuses on strengthening future cooperation and other issues. The main purpose of Konstantin’s visit to China was to advertise for Yekaterinburg City bidding for the 2020 World Expo. President Li showed her great support of it. CPAFFC Vice President Li Jianping and Kozlov, Minister Counselor of Russian Embassy to China were present. Accompanied by Vice President Li Jianping, the foreign guests visited the exhibition of the history of CPAFFC.

On December 5, Senegalese President Macky Sall honored Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC, with the Commander of the Order of Merit at the Presidential Palace on the sidelines of the 6th Afrocities Summit held in Dakar, capital of Senegal. Sall said, he and Li held cordial and friendly talks on Senegal-China relations and the development history of the Communist Party of China. Li was honored with the Commander of the Order of Merit, in appreciation of the contributions she made to promote the people-to-people and local-government exchanges and cooperation between Senegal and China as well as between Africa and China. Sall deeply respects the first generation of Chinese state leaders for leading Chinese people to found New China through arduous struggle, and highly appreciates various generations of Chinese state leaders for actively exploring the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and leading Chinese people to achieve splendid economic and social development. Li said, it was her great honor to receive the Order of Merit. She thought that it was not only her personal honor, but also the profound friendship from President Sall and the Senegalese government to the old-generation of Chinese revolutionists, and the Chinese government and people. She would like to continue to work hand in hand with Senegal, to further the people-to-people diplomacy and local government exchanges between China and Senegal and improve the well-being of the peoples of both countries. President Li Xiaolin led the Chinese Local Government Delegation, consisting of senior officials from 7 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China, to attend the 6th Afrocities Summit and the 1st China-Africa Governors & Mayos Dialogue in Dakar, Senegal.

On November 23th, Tang Jiaxuan, the president of China-Japan Friendship Association (CJFA) and Li Xiaolin, the president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), met with Hiromasa Yonekura, Chairman of Japan Business Federation and his Party. Fu Ying, the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister, Jing Dunquan, the vice president of the CPAFFC, Nakamura Yoshio，Director General of Japan Business Federation and YOSHIMASA Takao, executive vice president of SUMITOMO CHEMICAL Co., LTD were present. Tang Jiaxuan highly praised Hiromasa’s distinguished contribution on promoting the development of the economic and trading relations between the two countries, and the great efforts Hiromasa had made when China-Japan relations facing the severe situation. He said, Hiromasa was totally worthy of the honorable title of China-Japan Friendship Ambassador. ? Hiromasa appreciated the two presidents for setting time for the meeting out of their tight schedules. On Nov.20th ,2012, CPAFFC president Li Xiaolin met with Flexa Ribeiro, Chairman of Brazil-China Friendship Group of the Brazilian Senate, and his party. President Li Xiaolin gave her warm welcome to Flexa Ribeiro for his visit in China. She said, both China and Brazil were members of BRICS and the biggest developing countries in Eastern and Western Hemisphere . At present, China-Brazil relations were developing fast and comprehensively. The friendly contact between the two countries was closer day by day. In their meeting, President Li Xiaolin introduced CPAFFC’s program BRICS Friendship Cities and Local Governments Cooperation Forum. She said, the friendship between China and Brazil should be based on the peoples. The in-depth development of China-Brazil friendship would contribute to promoting the contact of local authorities between the two countries, furthering the exchanges in city cooperation and culture, and providing an effective platform for the contact of the two countries. On November 5, President Li Xiaolin of the CPAFFC met with DeWayne Hopkins, the mayor of Muscatine city, Iowa state. The two sides exchanged ideas on the relevant arrangements of holding commemorative activities for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of friendship-province/state relations between Iowa state and Hebei province, and the issues on establishing friendship cities between Muscatine and Zhengding, Hebei Province. DeWayne Hopkins would also lead a delegation to visit Hebei, Zhejiang and Shanghai to discuss with the Chinese counterparts about strengthening exchanges and cooperation in fields of economy, trade and education.

President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, President of Bangladesh-China Friendship Association (BCFA) on 19th October. Mr. Hussain introduced current development and activities of BCFA to president Li, expressing the willingness to cooperate with our association to organize activities conducive to friendship development between peoples of both countries. Mr. Hussain also recalled plesantly the almost 30 years history of exchanges and communications betweent the two organizations.?? President Li introduced the "BRICS Friendship Cities and Local Governments Cooperation Forum" to H.E. Mr. Jaishankar, hoping that Indian Embassy could play an active role to make the forum to be held successfully in India early next year and facilitate the intertwining of the first sister city between China and India.
