President Li Xiaolin Hosts Welcome Dinner for Lord Tu’ivakano, Prime Minster of Tonga

On June 21st, President Li Xiaolin hosted a welcome dinner for Lord Tu’ivakano, Prime Minster of Tonga, Lady Robyn Kaho and the delegation at the Peace Palace. 

First, President Li Xiaolin extend the warmest welcome to Lord Tu’ivakano''''s visit to CPAFFC. In her speech, she emphasized that, though standing faraway, Tonga and China are bonded with immense affection, sharing similar cultural traditions and values. Afterwards, she reviewed the development of the people-to-people friendship between Tonga and China. Especially, she thanked Her Royal Highness Pilolevu for her active participation in the Friendship Forum and China International Friendship Cities Conference. Finally, Madam Li hoped that the two countries could strengthen communication and cooperation with each other in all fields under the principle of mutual respect and mutual benefit.

On behalf of the Taufa''''ahau Tupou VI and Tongan people,Tu’ivakano extended sincere thanks to CPAFFC for its great commitments in promoting friendly exchanges between the two countries throughout the years. In the meanwhileHe conveyed Her Royal Highness Pilolevu Tuita''''s best regards for CPAFFC and Chinese people. Lord Tu''''ivakano hoped that Tonga China Friendly Association could work closely with the government, attracting more Chinese enterprises to invest in Tonga. Moreover, he was looking forward to witness the establishment of Sister City''''s relationship between the City of Wudalianchi and Nukunuku, setting example for more cities to follow through practical cooperation. Finally, Lord Tu''''ivakano thanked Madam Li and CPAFFC again, hoping that the two sides can work together to facilitate the development of people-to-people friendship between Tonga and China.
