Meeting with President U Thein Sein
At the invitation of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association (MCFA), President Li Xiaolin led a 6-member CPAFFC delegation and visited Myanmar from Dec. 18th to 21st, 2013. During the visit, President Li paid a courtesy call to U Thein Sein, President of Myanmar and met U Htay Oo, Vice Chairman of Union Solidarity and Development Party and Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson of National League of Democracy. President Li had a work meeting with MCFA President U Sein Win Aung and the two associations reached a lot of consensus on the high-level exchanges and cooperation on culture, youth and charity work between the two countries.
President Li made a special visit to the Yangon University of Foreign Language and held a friendship dialogue with the teachers and students of the Chinese Department. President Li encouraged them to carry forward and develop the China-Myanmar traditional friendship. The delegation also visited the Nay Pyi Taw Office of CNPC South-East Asia Pipeline Company Limited and was briefed on the China-Myanmar gas pipeline project. H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan, Ambassador of China to Myanmar accompanied the delegation in major activities.
