The Imperial Springs International Forum is cohosted by Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Australia China Friendship and Exchange Association. Participants for the Forum discussed upon topics such as “Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiatives--New Opportunity and New Challenge” and analyzed China’s role in shaping international order and promoting global economy. They also raised constructive suggestions for the status-quo of international security and challenges in the fields of economy.

On Oct 10th, CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin met with Mr.Korn ?Dabbaransi,President of Thai-Chinese Friendship Association and former deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, and his delegation.They exchanged views on the relationship between China and Thailand as well as the people-to-people friendship between the two countries. Ms.Lin Yi, Vice President of CPAFFC also attended the meeting.
At the invitation of CPAFFC, Mr.Korn ?Dabbaransi and his delegation visited Beijing and attended the reception for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand.

On October 9th, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Ahad Mohammadi, President of the Iran-China Friendship Association. President Li Xiaolin expressed her welcome to President Mohammadi for visiting China and participating in the annual meeting of the friendship associations between China and Iran. She wished the meeting a complete success. Mr. Mohammadi said that after the signing of the Iran Nuclear Agreement, foreign sanctions against Iran will be gradually lifted so that China-Iran cooperation will face new opportunities. China is an old friend of Iran. Iran will not forget China for providing great help when Iran encountered difficult times, and Iran is willing to strengthen relations with China under the new situation. The Iran-China Friendship Association also hopes to keep close contact with the CPAFFC in order to discuss the cooperation under "One Belt and One Road" projects, tourism and other fields. Mrs. Lin Yi, Vice President of the CPAFFC also attended the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Attends“Every Woman Every Child” High-level Meeting in the United Nations
“Every Woman Every Child” High-level Meeting was held on September 26th at the UN headquarter in New York. The meeting was hosted by the UN Secretary General’s Office and with CPAFFC as its coordinating organization in China. Nearly 600 representatives from different countries attended the meeting. The VIPs included First Lady of the People’s Republic of China and WHO Ambassador for Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Peng Liyuan, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Director General of WHO Margaret Chan, Executive Director of UNICEF Anthony Lake, President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Malawi Peter Mutharika, Peime Minister of Ethiopia Hailemariam Desalegn, Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon launched the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health at the opening ceremony. President Li Xiaolin attended the whole meeting and delivered a key-note speech at the second panel.
Madame Peng Liyuan said in her speech that taking care of women, children and adolescents’ health is the most important investment to the future of mankind. She expressed her gratitude to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for launching “Every Woman Every Child” and leveraging the collective strengths of all sectors to make great contribution to promoting the health of women, children and adolescents worldwide. Madame Peng promised that China would work closely with the UN, WHO, UNAIDS、UNICEF, UN Women to fully support the implementation of the updated Global Strategy in the whole world.

President Li Xiaolin highly appreciated the achievements made by “Every Woman Every Child” in the past five years and congratulated on the upgraded Global Strategy. She also introduced the new commitment made by the Chinese Government. As part of this commitment, President Li emphasized the China Partnership Network which was established by the joint efforts of CPAFFC and the UN. The Network aimed at leveraging the collective strengths of government institutions, corporations and civil society members, to build sustainable and innovative partnerships for critical areas for women, children and adolescents’ health in China and overseas; and it will serve as a platform for sharing experiences and best practices, thereby making new and effective contributions to this global agenda. The current members of the growing network pledges to invest or donate 290 million US dollars in critical areas such as electricity and water for health and education facilities, health ICT system, insurance in support of UHC, agriculture and nutrition and food safety.
National leaders, leadership of international organizations and social societies as well as CEOs of multinational corporations presented at the meeting made commitments in their speeches, promised to take tangible actions to support the upgraded Global Strategy and promote the development of the global women children and adolescents’ health. Meanwhile many representatives have expressed their support to the China Partnership Network and willingness for future collaboration.
“Every Woman Every Child” was launched by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in 2010, with the aim of leveraging the collective strengths of government institutions, corporations and civil society members to forge cross-sector cross-industry partnerships to support development strategies for women’s and children’s health in all countries. China was one of the first countries made commitment to this initiative. Since its launching, 2.4million women and children have been saved through joint efforts made by all sides. The Women’s and Children’s health strategy is formally updated to the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health in September 2015. The updated Global Strategy will become the guideline for promoting women, children and adolescents’ health from 2016 to 2030.

President Li Xiaolin met with Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts on September 18, 2015.
President Li Xiaolin extended a warm welcome to Governor Ricketts for his first visit to China after taking office. She briefed on the preparatory work for the Third China-US Governors Forum and several other activities held this year, including the Sixth China-US Relations Conference, the Photo Exhibition on China-US Cooperation during World War Two and the Commemorative Activities for the 70th anniversary of the Victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. She said, entrusted by the Chinese government, CPAFFC is responsible for the coordination and management of sister cities relations between China and the rest of the world. China has established more than 2000 sister cities or sister states relations with other countries. She also expressed hope that Nebraska play an active role in the next China-US Governors Forum, promoting China-US sub-national exchange and cooperation.
Governor Snyder thanked CPAFFC for inviting and welcoming his delegation. He said, China is Nebraska’s fourth largest trading partner, with a trade volume of 610 million US dollars in 2014, which has doubled within the past five years. Nebraska and China share a lot of similarities, such as well-developed agriculture, emphasis on family and hard-working spirit. Through this visit, he hoped to further expand cooperation between Nebraska and China.

On September 16th, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. V? Xuan H?ng, President of Vietnam union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), who is accompanying Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on a visit to China.
President Li extended warm welcome to President V? for coming to the CPAFFC and expressed gratitude for costing the CPAFFC delegation earlier this year, as well as for cooperating with us in launching the Photo Exhibition on Ho Chi Minh and China-Vietnam Relations. Li said, VUFO is our important cooperative partner in Vietnam. We will take the 65th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties as an opportunity to deepen the friendly cooperation with VUFO. She also briefed him on our work in receiving the international veterans for the Commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
President V? Xuan H?ng thanked Li for the meeting amid the busy schedule and spoke highly of the coordination and cooperation with CPAFFC. He said that both Deputy PM Nguyen and China’s state leaders stressed the importance of people-to-people friendship and exchanges during their meeting. The VUFO will continue to work with CPAFFC to co-host a series of activities this year including the China-Vietnam People’s Forum and the China-Vietnam People’s Gala between the border area.

Madame Li Xiaolin, President of the CPAFFC, met with the delegation of the Filippino renowned news media led by Mr.Lorenzo Ku, President of the Huaren Society Association of the Philippines, Inc on 11, September. The delegation consists of 15 members. Mr.Li Xikui, Secretary General of the CPAFFC, attended the meeting. Madame Li Xiaolin and Mr.Li Xikui introduced the commemorative activities of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the world anti-fascist war, and the situation of the politics, economy and environmental protection, etc. in China, to the guests. They said some overseas reports on China are not true; China will remain committed to peaceful development. Madame Li Xiaolin hoped that these friends from Philippine media could reflect the real situation in China after they came back to the Philippines this time.
The members of the delegation said that, through their Jiangsu and Shandong visit, they fully experienced the great changes in China since China’s reform and opening.? The Filipino people are friendly to China and hope to develop together with China in the future. At present, the relationship between the two countries is facing with some problems, yet they believe that these problmes could be solved through the wisdom of the two countries’ people. After all, the Philippines and China are close neighbors, and there is no reason for the two countries to be unfriendly to each other. They will show the real China to the Filipino after they come back.
The delegation was organized by Mr. Lorenzo Ku, an old friend of the CPAFFC and the president of Huaren Society Association of the Philippines, Inc. Mr. Lorenzo Ku has been working for the cause of friendship between the Philippines and China for several decades. He was conferred People’s Friendship Award by the CPAFFC in the past.
Mr. Hu Yang, Deputy Director-General of the China Service Center for Friendship and Cooperation with Foreign Countries (CSC), also attended the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin attended the high-level meeting of the United Nations “Every Woman Every Child” (EWEC) China Partnership Network (CPN) hosted by CPAFFC on September 11th.
EWECCPN is established according to the MOU signed between CPAFFC and UN in 2014, with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Health and Family Planning Commission as its policy and technology guidance units, and All China Women’s Federation as its special advisory unit. CPN’s first members include Peking University Health Science Center, Beingmate Group Co., Ltd., BYD Company Limited, Research Center for Public Health at Tsinghua University, Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., Chia Tai Group Co.,Ltd., China Development Research Foundation, China Taiping Insurance Group Ltd., China Chamber of Commerce of Medicines and Health Products Importers and Exporters, China Red Ribbon Foundation etc. CPN aims at mobilizing the superior resources of all fields in China, carrying out its advantage as an international multilateral cooperation platform, to support the implementation of “Women’s Children’s and Adolescents’ Health Global Strategy” in China. CPN will also encourage more Chinese units to be involved in the international cooperation in the field of promoting women’s and children’s health, popularize our experience and progresses, to make new contribution to this worthy cause.
President Li Xiaolin mentioned in her speech that “Children and Adolescents are the future of mankind, and women are the guardians. The cause of caring women, children and adolescents is the greatest investment of our future, while still has a long way to go.
