President Li Xiaolin Signed Cooperative Agreement with President of The Rossotrudnichestvo
On 17th Dec, during the 20th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian prime ministers, President Li Xiaolin and Mrs. Glebova, President of The Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation of Russia (Rossotrudnichestvo) signed the bilateral cooperative agreement between the two associations with the presence of the prime ministers from both sides.? On that morning, President Li Xiaolin met with Mrs. Glebova, who came especially for the ceremony of assignment of cooperative agreement. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC attended the meeting.?? President Li welcomed Mrs. Glebova to CPAFFC. She briefed her about the general work provided by CPAFFC and China-Russian Friendship Association, projects matching the National Theme Year, enhancing the local governments’ cooperation and youth communication. She said that to cooperate with Chinese overall diplomatic strategy, CPAFFC gave high value to the development of China and Russia friendly relations. She expressed her willingness to enhance the understanding between the two peoples and invigorate the friendly relations by the assignment of the agreement. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC introduced the working blueprint with Russian part of CPAFFC next year.? Mrs. Glebova was grateful for President Li’s encounter besides her busy schedule. She also spoke highly of her achievements on the sector of people-to-people exchange. She hoped to further communicate with CPAFFC about the cooperation on the sectors of local governments, youth, education and culture.? Mr. Shen Xin,? Deputy Director General of Department of European and Asian Affairs and Mr. Frolov, Vice President of Rossotrudnichestvo were present at the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Meets H.E. Shaukat Aziz, APRC Vice Chairman and Former Prime Minister of Pakistan
?? President Li Xiaolin of CPAFFC met with H.E. Shaukat Aziz, Chairman of Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council and Former Prime Minister of Pakistan. The delegation also included APRC Councilmembers H.E. Yashwant Sinha, Former Foreign Minister of India, H.E. Yu Myung Hwan, Former Foreign and Trade Minister of Korea and H.E. Weerasak Kowrurat, Former Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand. President Li Xiaolin extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Aziz and APRC Councilmembers, who’s attending the the Third Annual Conference of APRC held in Beijing. She expressed her hope to strengthen cooperation between CPAFFC and APRC, making joint efforts in promoting regional reconciliation and safeguarding world peace. Prime Minister Aziz expressed his gratitude to President Li Xiaolin for her hospitality, and exchanged views on contemporary world and regional hot-spot issues with CPAFFC. ?

President Li Xiaolin Meets with Bob Hawke, Former Prime Minister of Australia
On November 9th, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Bob Hawke, Former Prime Minister of Australia. Madam Li extended welcome to Mr. Hawke and briefed him upon the people-to-people exchange activities between CPAFFC with nearly 500 nongovernment organizations and institutions in 157 countries. Mr. Hawke thanked Madam Li for her time and spoke highly of the great achievements that CPAFFC has contributed to enhancing people’s friendship. He hoped CPAFFC would achieve more fruitful results in deepening friendship and promoting mutual benefits between the two peoples. During the meeting, Mr. Hawke also expressed the wishes of Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia to establish friendly cooperation with CPAFFC and invite Madam Li to visit Saudi Arabia at a proper time. Madam Li thanked Prince Alwaleed for his invitation and expressed her hope to visit Saudi Arabia in the near future. The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and other international hot issues. Mr. Qing Boming, Secretary General of the China International Friendship Cities Association attended the meeting.

President Li Xiaolin Hosts the Dialogue of Chinese and Vietnamese Friendship Delegates
? The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Vietnam union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) jointly held the Dialogue of Chinese and Vietnamese Friendship Delegates in Hanoi on November 5, 2015.? More than 50 friendly personages as well as youth delegates attended the dialogue.? Madame Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC and Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, Chairman of VUFO, co-hosted the dialogue. ? President Li Delivering a Speech President Li said that on the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by H.E. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee and President of China, the dialogue is significant in gathering friendship delegates from China and Vietnam for exchanging ideas of enhancing mutual friendship. The China-Vietnam friendship is founded and nurtured by our former state leaders. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam.? CPAFFC and VUFO have successfully held a series of activities, which further strengthened the “Deep Friendship between Vietnam and China” as well as “Comrades and Brothers” ties of our two countries. They all expressed that although China-Vietnam relations have met difficulties; traditional friendship always remains as the mainstream and serves to the fundamental interests of our peoples.? The China- Japan friendly exchange activities held by CPAFFC in recent all achieved good effect. Yesterday, the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also met with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Seoul. President Li Xiaolin also said that, the relationship between China and Japan can only be good other than bad. With the effort of both sides, such good relationship must be much more improved. It is hard to tell the difference between Chinese youth’s and Japanese youth’s award-winning Chinese calligraphy works, which shows the entwined roots of two countries’ Chinese calligraphy. Chinese and Japanese youth ringed the Peace Bell together, and its echo floated on the air. Different forms of exchanges offered the youth impressive memory and such memory could be meaningful for their future lives. Thank you again for the participation and support for both sides.? At present, the China?and?Japan relations are facing with the opportunity of being further improved, yet there are still many complex?and?sensitive issues, which require the both sides to properly deal with. In order to elaborately safeguard the hard-won promising improvement of the bilateral ties, promoting mutual trust, being honest with each other,?and?expanding exchanges?and?cooperation are necessary. President Li Xiaolin stated that, the local exchanges?and?cooperation are an important part of the Sino-Japanese relations; meanwhile, such local exchanges?and?cooperation are also a special opportunity to improve the bilateral ties. President Li Xiaolin Meets with U.S. Mormon Leaders Delegation
On October 21, President Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Russell M. Nelson, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and his delegation. President Li welcomed President Nelson to visit CPAFFC again. She introduced to the delegation the recent major projects conducted by CPAFFC with the aim of promoting China-U.S. subnational cooperation, with the most important one being the 3rd China-U.S. Governors Forum, which was held in Seattle back in September during President Xi’s state visit to the United States. President Nelson felt glad to meet with President Li again. He admired the efforts made by President Li and CPAFFC in strengthening U.S.- China friendly cooperation. Nelson marveled at the tremendous change in China over the past 30 years since he first visited China in 1980. His state Utah attached great importance in developing its relationship with China, and had conducted frequent exchanges and cooperation in various fields. He hoped to expand future cooperation with CPAFFC so as to drive forward the China-U.S. friendly cooperation. The delegation also invited President Li to visit Brigham Young University-Hawaii and the Polynesian Center at her earliest convenience this year.

Amissah Arthur, spouse of the Vice President of Ghana, who is paying a visit to China at the invitation of CPAFFC. President Li Xiaolin welcomed the delegation to visit China and briefed Mrs. Matilda on CPAFFC's work on African affairs, especially the 2nd Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation which is to be held next month. She said that CPAFFC hopes to work with the Ghanian side to promote the cooperation in all fields and further friendship between the two peoples. She introduced the works of CPAFFC and the preparations of the upcoming 2nd Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation. She said that CPAFFC will continue to strengthen the cooperation in the fields of trade, mining and local government so as to benefit the two peoples. Minister Mills said that the Ghanaian side appreciates the support and help from the Chinese side for its social and economic developments. Ghana welcomes the investment from China and hopes to deepen the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.?
