The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Vietnam union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) jointly held the Dialogue of Chinese and Vietnamese Friendship Delegates in Hanoi on November 5, 2015. More than 50 friendly personages as well as youth delegates attended the dialogue. Madame Li Xiaolin, President of CPAFFC and Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, Chairman of VUFO, co-hosted the dialogue.

President Li said that on the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by H.E. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee and President of China, the dialogue is significant in gathering friendship delegates from China and Vietnam for exchanging ideas of enhancing mutual friendship. The China-Vietnam friendship is founded and nurtured by our former state leaders. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. CPAFFC and VUFO have successfully held a series of activities, which further strengthened the “Deep Friendship between Vietnam and China” as well as “Comrades and Brothers” ties of our two countries. President Li hopes that the delegates participating in the dialogue will contribute more ideas and suggestions for promoting bilateral exchanges in the spirit of advocating friendship, consolidating mutual trust and implementing pragmatic cooperation. Chairman Vu extended welcome to President Li’s visit to Vietnam again just before Comrade Xi Jinping’s state visit. Mr. Vu also said that Vietnamese delegates in the dialogue have all been making remarkable efforts to the development of Vietnam-China relations in their respective posts and hoped they make more contributions in this regard through interactions in the dialogue.

Altogether six representatives spoke during the dialogue, including Mr. Zhang Dewei, Vice President of China-Vietnam Friendship Association and former Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, and Mr. Doan Manh Giao, former President of Vietnam-China Friendship Association. They all expressed that although China-Vietnam relations have met difficulties; traditional friendship always remains as the mainstream and serves to the fundamental interests of our peoples. In the context of drastic changes of international situation, China and Vietnam are facing common challenges and should carry forward the traditional friendship founded by former state leaders by enhancing exchanges.
The representatives also unanimously agreed that as the deepening of China’s 30-odd years of reform and opening-up and Vietnam’s innovation and opening-up, the two countries share great potentiality of cooperation. The coming visit by Comrade Xi Jinping is “the happiest event” for our peoples, which will surely further develop traditional friendship and cooperation of mutual benefit.
