President Li Xiaolin met with Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts on September 18, 2015.
President Li Xiaolin extended a warm welcome to Governor Ricketts for his first visit to China after taking office. She briefed on the preparatory work for the Third China-US Governors Forum and several other activities held this year, including the Sixth China-US Relations Conference, the Photo Exhibition on China-US Cooperation during World War Two and the Commemorative Activities for the 70th anniversary of the Victory of Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. She said, entrusted by the Chinese government, CPAFFC is responsible for the coordination and management of sister cities relations between China and the rest of the world. China has established more than 2000 sister cities or sister states relations with other countries. She also expressed hope that Nebraska play an active role in the next China-US Governors Forum, promoting China-US sub-national exchange and cooperation.
Governor Snyder thanked CPAFFC for inviting and welcoming his delegation. He said, China is Nebraska’s fourth largest trading partner, with a trade volume of 610 million US dollars in 2014, which has doubled within the past five years. Nebraska and China share a lot of similarities, such as well-developed agriculture, emphasis on family and hard-working spirit. Through this visit, he hoped to further expand cooperation between Nebraska and China.
