On April 13, president Li Xiaolin?and?vice president Hu Sishe of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with former Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Yukio Hatoyama. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama expressed that he was very glad to see CPAFFC’s role in promoting friendly exchanges. The extensive cultural exchange activities of China?and?Japan developed by CPAFFC recently had stirred up wide appreciation. He also hoped to continue to support the people to people exchanges with CPAFFC.

Mme. Li Xiaolin, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with a delegation led by Mr.?Kurt Karst, President of Federation of German-China Friendship Association (FGCFA) on April,10. Both sides had an in-depth discussion on cooperation, people-to-people diplomacy, the current European situation?and?etc. FGCFA was set up in December last year, which combined 16 friendly organizations to China. Mme. She also invited President Franco Terenzi to attend the parallel panel discussion on the connectivity of people of the Belt?and?Road Initiatives Forum, which will be held in May this year. Mr. Franco Terenzi thanked President Li for inviting,?and?expressed that San Marino would further strengthen the friendly cooperation with China?and?improve the bilateral relations. Co-hosted by the Chinese Peoples’ Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), France Fondation Vision Essilor(FFVE), Secours Populaire Fran?ais (SPF)?and?People’s Government of Xing County, Lv Liang City, Shanxi Province, the launching ceremony of the poverty alleviation program “Bright Sight, Viewing World” was held in Xing County Experiment School on the morning of March 31, 2017. CPAFFC President Li Xiaolin was present?and?delivered a speech. President Li said, as an old revolutionary base area, Xing County had made immortal contributions to the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the founding?and?developing of new China. They are our common wishes that help the people living there to have a better life as soon as possible?and?build a well-off society in an all-round way together with the people of the whole country. There would be a great deal of work need to do for CPAFFC, since the work of the poverty alleviation just took the first step. The term of the program is two years. On March 28th, President Li Xiaolin of CPAFFC had a meeting with Angela A. Chao, deputy chairman of Foremost Group,?and?her husband Jim Breyer. They exchanged views on pushing forward China-U.S. relationship?and?people-to-people exchange. ??

On March 20, CPAFFC President?and?CFFPD Honorary President Mme. Li Xiaolin met with Mr. Vladimir Makatsaria, Chairman of Johnson & Johnson China. ? President Li welcomed the visit of Mr. Vladimir Makatsaria?and?thanked Johnson & Johnson's support to the charity project of "Caring without Boarders-Searching for the Most Extraordinary Foreign Aid Doctors". She also expressed the wishes of continuous support to other charity projects of our association. Mr. Vladimir Makatsaria expressed his thanks to ?CPAFFC?and?CFFPD for their support to the charity projects sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. President Li spoke highly of the contributions Panasonic had made to pushing forward the friendly relations of the two countries for many years?and?appreciated the efforts Mr. OSAWA HIDETOSHI had made on promoting the exchanges in economics?and?trade between China?and?Japan during his tenure. She hoped that Mr. YOKOO SADAAKI would continue to make new contributions to promoting the cooperation of the two countries. President Li also said that, this year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of the diplomatic relations between China?and?Japan, next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the treaty of peace?and?friendship between China?and?Japan, which are the important opportunities for the bilateral relations. CPAFFC?and?CJFA would?like?to work with Panasonic to pass the friendship on, promote the exchange?and?cooperation through organizing some activities and?create?a better future. Mr. OSAWA HIDETOSHI thanked President Li for?having?a meeting with them?and?also thanked CPAFFC?and?CJFA for giving the cause of Panasonic a lot of support. He said that, it will mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Panasonic in next year when will also be the 40th anniversary of visiting Panasonic by Mr. Deng Xiaoping. Panasonic would?like?to take the 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the treaty of peace?and?friendship as an important chance to hold series of commemorative activities?and?take its own advantages to continuously promote the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship. From February 28th to Match 1st, President Li Xiaolin visited the United States. During her visit, she met with Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson?and?Mayor Mark Stodola of Little Rock all of whom expressed the willingness to continue exchanges as well as expand cooperation with China,?and?enhance the communication with CPAFFC.

On 16th February President Li Xiaolin of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) met with Sir Henry Keswick, Chairman of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited,?and?his delegation. The two sides have extensively exchanged views on ?promoting the two countries’ people-to-people, culture,?and?local governments exchanges?and?cooperation, prospects of UK-EU relations,?and?other hotspot issues of common concern to both sides. President Li Xiaolin met with Mr.Hiroyasu Ando, President of the Japan Foundation, on February 9th at CPAFFC. Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President of CPAFFC, attended the meeting. Mr.Hiroyasu Ando introduced the upcoming Kabuki performances produced by the Japan Foundation which will be held in Beijing in March. President Li extended welcome to Mr.Hiroyasu Ando?and?spoke highly of the Kabuki performances. As this year marks the 45th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations, she expressed her wish to strengthen the cooperation with the Japan Foundation in the field of culture exchanges between the two countries, in order to continuously inject vitality into the improvement?and?development of China-Japan relations.
