On December 25, President Yang Wanming met with the outgoing Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pha?m Sao Mai at the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
President Yang Wanming commended Ambassador Pha?m Sao Mai for his significant contributions to the development of China-Vietnam relations, as well as to people-to-people exchanges and friendship between the two countries during his tenure. Yang emphasized that, under the strategic guidance and personal attention of the top leaders of both countries and parties, China-Vietnam relations have entered a new era focused on building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that holds strategic significance. The deepening of comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries has laid a solid foundation for consolidating and advancing the friendship between the peoples of China and Vietnam. Looking ahead to the next year, which will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, as well as China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges, Yang stated that, staying true to the original spirit of traditional friendship and guided by shared ideals and missions, the CPAFFC is eager to collaborate with all sectors of society in Vietnam, including the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations. This collaboration will focus on six overarching goals "greater political mutual trust, more solid security cooperation, deeper mutually beneficial cooperation, stronger popular support, closer multilateral coordination, and better handling of differences." Yang expressed the CPAFFC's commitment to preparing and organizing friendly activities, building more bridges for people-to-people exchanges, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship, ultimately contributing to the establishment of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.
Ambassador Pha?m Sao Mai expressed his sincere gratitude to President Yang Wanming and the CPAFFC for their unwavering support throughout his tenure in China. He highly praised the important role the CPAFFC has played in strengthening people-to-people friendship between China and Vietnam. Ambassador Pha?m noted that with frequent high-level exchanges, fruitful outcomes in mutually beneficial cooperation, and the deepening of people-to-people friendship, the development of relations between the two parties and the two countries has reached a new level. He expressed great pride in having witnessed key historical moments in the growth of Vietnam-China relations during his tenure and will always cherish these moments. The Vietnamese Embassy in China, Ambassador Pha?m added, is eager to maintain close cooperation with the CPAFFC, ensure the success of events commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, and work together to achieve even greater milestones in the friendly relations between the two parties, two countries, and two peoples.
Zhu Dan, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs of the CPAFFC, was also present at the meeting.
