On December 6, at the invitation of Thai Ambassador to China Chatchai Viriyavejakul, President Yang Wanming attended a dinner at the ambassador's residence.
President Yang Wanming remarked that China and Thailand are close neighbors, bound by a deep and enduring friendship. The two countries are geographically connected, their peoples share a kinship, and their cultures enjoy a natural affinity. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Thailand comprehensive strategic cooperation has been strengthened, and the building of a community with a shared future has made significant progress. With the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand approaching next year, President Yang emphasized that the "Golden Jubilee of China-Thailand Friendship" presents a special opportunity. The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) looks forward to working with the Thai Embassy in China and other Thai organizations to hold the reception in celebration of this anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and other celebration events in an innovative way. President Yang also called for close coordination in both bilateral and multilateral areas, and the creation of more opportunities for people-to-people exchanges, practical cooperation, cultural exchanges, and youth friendship. These efforts, he noted, will help ensure that the China-Thailand friendship continues to grow deeper in the hearts of the two peoples and is passed down through generations.
Ambassador Chatchai Viriyavejakul expressed his appreciation for CPAFFC's longstanding and positive contributions to advancing bilateral relations and strengthening people-to-people friendship. He affirmed his willingness to collaborate with the CPAFFC to successfully commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. This, he said, will provide a valuable opportunity to enhance exchanges and cooperation in areas such as culture, subnational exchanges, and youth initiatives, further strengthening the close bonds between the two peoples.
