On December 4, 2024, President Yang Wanming met with the President of the Ford Foundation Darren Walker at the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
President Yang extended a warm welcome to Walker. He noted that China-US relations is entering a new phase under changing circumstances. In light of the challenges and uncertainties ahead, maintaining communication, dialogue, and exchange is crucial. The CPAFFC will continue to foster stability in China-US relations, particularly at the local, youth, and cultural levels. Additionally, President Yang expressed his gratitude to the Ford Foundation for its support to projects related to China's rural revitalization and China-US youth exchanges, and welcomed the Ford Foundation's continued support for cooperation in these areas moving forward.
Darren Walker thanked the CPAFFC for its vital support in advancing the Ford Foundation's work in China. He emphasized the Ford Foundation's commitment to continuing its collaboration with the CPAFFC to contribute to strengthening friendly exchanges between the Chinese and American peoples.
CPAFFC Vice President Shen Xin and Mattie Bekink, Chief Representative of Ford Foundation Beijing Office, also attended the meeting.
