On 13th, October 2015, Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries successfully held the reception celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Around 100 people , including representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, professors from Chinese Academy of Fine Arts and delegates from Canadian Embassy in China and Canada China Business Council were present at the reception.

In his remarks, Vice President Xie Yuan pointed out that, over the past 45 years, with our concerted efforts, cooperation in various fields between the two countries has been developing steadily. Moreover, we have witnessed the deepening of the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. At present, we saw prosperous development in regards of people to people exchanges between the two countries. Taking the 45th anniversary as an opportunity,we would like to work together with Canada to hold higher the sail of cooperation and friendship to push forward the ship of China-Canadian relations to a better future.

His Excellency Mr. Guy Saint-Jacques, Ambassador of Canada to the People’s Republic of China spoke highly of Canada-China relations and thanked CPAFFC for its commitments in strengthening local governmental relations and enhancing people’s friendship between the two countries. He expressed that they would like to deepen cooperation and exchanges with China in the fields of economy and trade, culture, education and tourism, etc and wished to achieve further development at the new starting point.
