Vice president Xie Yuan met with Jose Maria Figueres, the former president of Costa Rica, and his delegation on December 19th ,2013.
Figueres was elected as the president of Costa Rica from 1994 to 1998. His father, Jose Figueres Ferrer, was the founder and supreme leader of the National Liberation Party of Costa Rica, and served as President of Costa Rica on 3 occasions.
Vice president Xie Yuan welcomed Figueres to China and introduced the work of CPAFFC and the people-to-people contact between China and Costa Rica. The both sides exchanged the ideas on cooperation on trade, tourism development and strengthening ecological environmental protection.
