On June 6, 2025, Vice President Yuan Mindao met with Mohamed Rasheed, President of the South Asia-China Friendship and Cooperation Organization (SACFCO) and Chairman of the China-Maldivian Cultural Association, at the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
Vice President Yuan expressed his appreciation for Mohamed Rasheed's long-standing contributions to promoting cultural exchanges between China and the Maldives. The two sides exchanged views on jointly hosting the 2025 China South Asia Young Leaders Exchange Program and the Ninth China South Asia Friendship Organizations' Forum in the second half of the year. Mohamed Rasheed noted that, the SACFCO will fully leverage its strengths and actively mobilize friendship organizations across South Asia to ensure smooth implementation of the events, with the aim of advancing practical cooperation and enhancing people's friendship.
Xu Yan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Asian and African Affairs of the CPAFFC, also attended the meeting.
